Today, we live in a world where individuality and identity is very important.
As future global leaders, Ga’Chi tried to find a way to share our stories regarding our identity as Koreans. In Korea, August 15 is known as Gwang-bok Jeol, or National Liberation Day. As one of the most significant days in Korean history, Gwang-bok Jeol marks the anniversary of Korea’s liberation from 35 long years of Japanese annexation. Hence, Gwang-bok Jeol is a day to celebrate the Korean identity and find pride in the resilience of our nation.
This year on Gwang-bok jeol, Ga’chi hosted a 24-hour relay livestream to bolster the unity of youth today under this theme of our national pride. The show featured 24 Korean students living all around the world coming together to share their own unique definition of what it means to be Korean.
